User narrative #1

My name is Tom. I like playing an on-line game, which is World of Warcraft, with friends whenever I have a free time. I barely read a newspaper and am not interested in economy, politics and social issues.

As soon as I get home from work, I turn on computer. I click on social icon to check whether my friends are on-line or off-line. My character in the game is reached at level 20 yesterday. The higher my character level is, the more gold is needed. One of my friends is connected into the game. We meet in Stormind City where many users are gathered in the game. In this place users exchange their items, invite new users to their guild, and sometimes fight each other to raise their character's level without hunting monsters.

I found the advertisement someone wrote on Bulletinboard, " If you visit my site and leave a comment, I will give 20 gold to you." Gold is the highest currency unit in the game. It is also hard to get 20 gold at my level. So my friend and I decide to visit the website. At first we see a brief description about North Korea Defections. We download a viewer which is realXtend viewer according to the direction on website, and then we are connected into an online virtual world.

We find a puppy running away from wolves. I become conscious that the puppy represents North Korean defections because I see the synopsis of 3d animation at this website. Before I visited this online world and watched this 3d animation, I totally did not know about North Korean Defection and the reason why they tried to escape from North Korea. Now, I understand a little bit their suffering and am concerned about their human rights.
